Linger by Maggie Stiefvater Contest

Linger Cover LargeIn Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other.  Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack.  And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.

At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love -- the light and the dark, the warm and the cold -- in a way you will never forget.

I just read about this contest on Ms. Stiefvater's website after devouring Shiver, and just had to share it!

Comes out in stores everywhere July 20th. Pre-order here.

Enter to win an advanced review copies of LINGER, Sisters Red, The Dead-Tossed Waves, and The Replacement on Maggie's blog.

Pre-Review of the Anthology "Heart of Darkness"

Although I have not read this anthology, all the Paranormal Romance authors that I really enjoy reading are included in the novel!

Gena Showalter has included a tale from her Lord of the Underworld series, The Darkest Angel, featuring the passions between a demon assassin angel, and a Lucifer spawned Harpy that sounds especially sinful!

Maggie Shayne's contribution, Love Me to Death, spins the haunted tale of young girl who was murdered, but is not a woman seeking revenge with only one man brave enough to find out the secrets of her past and give her freedom, and I hope, some very powerful love.

Susan Krinard has written an interesting story, Lady of the Nile, starting in 1890 England between an aristocrat who believes she the reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian deity, and the man who intends to prove her wrong. Of course, neither realize what is at stake in this venture when they uncover a prophecy that will bind them together forever...which I have to say, doesn't sound so bad! It sounds pretty damn interesting for sure.

All in all, I have to say that I will definitely be reading this anthology that looks both sizzling and exciting with the passions and adventures the characters seem to experience from the first page to the last. I definitely recommend this to any and all Paranormal Romance fans alike!
Below are the home pages of each author listed in this anthology! Just click on the links below, and visit their websites!

Mercy Thompson Series *Loving It!

It's official, I have fallen in Love with the Mercy Thompson Series by Patricia Briggs!!! I just love these books to date. I have already breezed through Moon Called, Blood Bound, and I'm halfway through Iron Kissed! Mercy is just a character I love: adaptable, funny, hard-headed, loving, and just a wee bit crazy! She also is a shapeshifter, which I have a soft spot for when it comes to my paranormal/urban fantasy reads! These books are a little darker and have a fair amount of violence, but it makes the stories more realistic, I think.

"Dead in the Family" Cover Art

I'm super excited to find that Charlaine Harris has posted the book cover for her new Sookie Stackhouse novel "Dead in the Family" releasing in May 2010! I just love the cover art of all the orginal Sookie books so much, and I am thrilled to see that she is keeping the same art for the new covers in this series! I just can't wait to get my hands on this book after reading the first chapter posted on her website, and the synopsis sounds excellent as well! Definitely check out CH's website for this book, and all her other fantastic books as well!

Holiday Classic or Perv's Melody?

Inquiring minds want to know: Does anyone else think that Eartha Kitt's "Santa Baby" is just a bit "dirty" as far as her singing and breathing through the song? I know who thinks this? Well, I do, and I want to know if anyone else is thinking the same thing. Here's the link I pulled off Google that has her "singing" the song in question.
