Been a While...
It has been a while since I posted on this blog but I am trying to turn over a new leaf and get more active as I enjoy writing online and need my outlets from everday stresses.
Lately? I have read a bunch - most notably George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, which I'm totally in love with! Love all the charaters but my favorites are Arya and Tyrion with Khal Drogo as honorable mention. (He is simply too delicious both in the HBO series and in A Game of Thrones the first book!)
I am currently reading the last book but overall my favorite of the series thus far has to be A Storm of Swords, which you can read my review at Goodreads through the following link:

I'm going to be too sad while waiting for the next book, The Winds of Winter, coming out in 2013, but I may try to read some of the hundreds of books still on my shelves just waiting for my attention and eyes, lol!

Mercy Thompson Series *Loving It!

It's official, I have fallen in Love with the Mercy Thompson Series by Patricia Briggs!!! I just love these books to date. I have already breezed through Moon Called, Blood Bound, and I'm halfway through Iron Kissed! Mercy is just a character I love: adaptable, funny, hard-headed, loving, and just a wee bit crazy! She also is a shapeshifter, which I have a soft spot for when it comes to my paranormal/urban fantasy reads! These books are a little darker and have a fair amount of violence, but it makes the stories more realistic, I think.

"Dead in the Family" Cover Art

I'm super excited to find that Charlaine Harris has posted the book cover for her new Sookie Stackhouse novel "Dead in the Family" releasing in May 2010! I just love the cover art of all the orginal Sookie books so much, and I am thrilled to see that she is keeping the same art for the new covers in this series! I just can't wait to get my hands on this book after reading the first chapter posted on her website, and the synopsis sounds excellent as well! Definitely check out CH's website for this book, and all her other fantastic books as well!

Holiday Classic or Perv's Melody?

Inquiring minds want to know: Does anyone else think that Eartha Kitt's "Santa Baby" is just a bit "dirty" as far as her singing and breathing through the song? I know who thinks this? Well, I do, and I want to know if anyone else is thinking the same thing. Here's the link I pulled off Google that has her "singing" the song in question.

Goodreads for this Reader...

I've been a member of Goodreads.com since July of this year, and I must say I really love it! I love the people, the conversations, books (of course), and recommendations that people give to one another. I particularly enjoy the groups, and their discussions and games particularly. I'm currently participating in a game called "Carry on the Story" where you write a word, line, paragraph, or whatever for a story we're are making up as we go. It's fun and interesting to see what other people come up with, and what you come up with as well! Here's the link to check it out:

Caillen's Story from The League Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I just loved the rewrite of "Born of Night" by Sherrilyn Kenyon! It was just a great Sci/Fi/Urban Fantasy Romance, and I loved all the characters! I new that she was re-writing the original three stories in this series, but she has added a new novel that will be coming out in 2011! It's Caillen Dagan's story, Darlings bestfriend and Shahara's brother, who we first glimpse in "Born of Night." I'm very excited about this next book, and I really like Sherrilyn Kenyon's writing in general! I'm posting the link her website that has the synopsis of Caillen's story below!
